Sorry
This is just to say is an intimate audience piece set around a table about apology by Hannah Jane Walker.
This is just to say is a conversation with poems in it, it’s about manipulation, Britishness, love and winning. This Is just to say is smudging its make-up, buying you bouquets and screening your calls.
Produced by Matt Burman, one of TWW's finest friends in the field this cosy and moving piece of performance poetry is an opportunity to rest from all the walking of the fringe and sit around a dining table with 12 strangers and share our experiences of the word SORRY.
We are asked to write down an apology that if we'd heard when we'd wanted it, it would have changed our paths. It is then read back to us by the person next to us and in some way this shifts our perception of time and what is possible, in how we tell ourselves truths and lies.
Endearing and well crafted HJW's poems touch me, and what a lovely retreat from the rain tonight.
